The ABCs of Mokkamaa webshop

  • We deliver throughout the EU
  • Pick-up from Mokkamaa (free) or in Joensuu Fast home delivery (Wolt 6,95€, orders over 69€ free of charge) even in less than an hour!

  • For chocolate products (especially pralines and figures), it is recommended to choose an additional service for fragile delivery (4€). It is not recommended to post chocolate in hot weather (daytime high above 25 degrees).
  • We are not responsible for the costs incurred if the order has been placed contrary to the recommendations and the product has been damaged as a result.
  • You can also order directly to the recipient, for example. Gift. In this case, remember to contact the recipient yourself so that they know how to wait for the package.

Delivery time, methods and prices:

As a rule, we complete orders within 1-4 business days, usually already on the same or the next business day, if all products are immediately in stock. We reserve the right to wait longer if a missing product is imminently in stock and you have not clicked on the box "I will allow the missing product to be replaced with another product as similar as possible".

Some products, such as Christmas calendars, may also mention pre-ordering. Therefore, they can and should be ordered in advance, but products ordered in the same order with them are usually delivered in the same shipment.

You can also order directly to the recipient, for example. as gift. In this case, remember to contact the recipient yourself so that they can expect the package from you. Nowadays, a sudden arrival notification can easily be mistaken for a scam message, or it can even automatically go to the spam folder. The customer is always responsible for the costs of uncollected items.

An automatic acknowledgement will be sent to your email when the order is completed (sent). Please also check your spam folder or e.g. in the gmail offers folder, if no confirmation appears within the above timeframe. The message of the notice of completion is the same for everyone, regardless of the delivery method. If you have chosen delivery, it means that the order is pre-packaged and ready to go, in which case it will be taken to the transport company on the same day (often in the evening). If you have chosen pick-up from Mokkamaa as the delivery method, the order can be picked up as soon as you receive the completion notification.

We pack almost all orders in recycled boxes (wholesale boxes that have come to us), which lowers shipping costs and reduces the burden on the environment. So don't be surprised if the packaging box says the name of a completely different product than the one you ordered. 🙂

The VAT on shipping fees is determined by the VAT on the products being delivered. Most of our products are groceries, so the delivery fees below are indicated according to the VAT category in question. However, if you order more than 50% of the order value for products subject to general VAT (e.g. French presses, filter papers), the delivery fee will also be correspondingly higher due to the higher VAT.

Delivery Joensuu and surrounding municipalities

Residents of Joensuu and nearby municipalities (postal codes 80100-83985) can choose between pick-up, home delivery or mailing. The customer can choose a Posti, Matkahuolto or Schenker office or parcel locker as the pick-up point for the parcel. We reserve the right to send the order by letter if this is possible considering the size and shelf life of the products (e.g. a single tea or coffee package). Home delivery from the online store can be ordered by Wolt, delivered by Posti or directly by us. Ordered products can also be picked up from the store at Kauppakatu 25 Joensuu. If the order will be picked up by someone other than the subscriber, please write their name in the comment field of the order. The cheapest pick-up point package costs €5.99, and Posti's home delivery starts at €14.99.

Wolt: Online purchases from Mokkamaa can be ordered directly to your home with Wolt delivered by Wolt, delivery fee €6.95 or orders over €69 free of charge. At best, you can get your purchases delivered to your home in less than an hour from the order! We process orders with the same priority as pick-up orders, i.e. we complete them as soon as there is a break in the store's customer flow (during opening hours), in practice always within an hour of the order at the latest. Once the order has been processed, a Wolt driver will pick up the order within half an hour and deliver it to you. If the order is placed outside of opening hours, the order will be processed as soon as we open it the next time. If the order is placed close to closing time, the shipment may need to be postponed to the next day. If something you have ordered is out of stock and you have not checked the "allow product replacement" box at checkout, we will normally ask you by email what to do, in which case the times will change depending on the time it takes to reply. The postal code areas supported by Wolt in Joensuu are: 80100, 80110, 80130, 80140, 80160, 80170, 80200, 80210, 80220, 80230, 80260. The Wolt delivery method will only appear after you have entered the address in the area in question. Note! The time limits only apply to finished products and do not include e.g. coffee calendars or custom products. They can also be ordered delivered through Wolt, but they are otherwise delivered within normal delivery times.

Examples of Wolt's delivery times:

  • You place your order on Friday at 4 pm: We will process your order within one hour, the Wolt driver will pick it up from us no later than 5:30 p.m., and you will receive your order by 6 p.m.
  • You place your order on Saturday night at 7pm: We will process your order the next time we open, usually on Monday at 11am. So you will receive your order by 1 pm on Monday.
  • You place your order on Tuesday at 9 am: We open the store at 11 am, so we process the order after that, you will receive the order by 1 pm on the same day.
  • You place your order on Friday at 5 pm: As we are close to closing time (6 pm), we have to consider whether we can process the order so that the Wolt driver can pick it up from us before the closing time by 6 pm. If we are not busy and all products are available immediately, we can place the order the same day and receive it by 18:30. However, if we do not have time to place the order on the same day, it will be processed at the beginning of the next day. If you want to make sure if your order will be on the same day, call us and ask.

Mokkamaa's own home delivery option (not available 4.7.-30.9.2025) will only appear in the online store after you have entered the postal code between 80100-83985 into the system. Home delivery costs €6.95 for purchases under €50 (postal codes beginning with 80xxx), and orders of €50 or more are delivered free of charge. Deliveries are mainly made on weekday evenings, but other times can be agreed if necessary.

Once we have received the order with the home delivery option, we will propose the following available delivery times by SMS within 3 working days at the latest, from which the customer can choose a suitable one or suggest another time. Other details of the delivery can be agreed at the same time. You can also request a delivery date in the additional information field when placing an order. Deliveries will be made no later than 7 days after the order. If the recipient cannot be reached as agreed and the order cannot be submitted, for example. at the door, the shipment will be returned to Mokkamaa, where it can be collected at no extra charge.

Delivery all over Finland

Throughout Finland, we deliver orders via Posti or Matkahuolto. You can also choose to pick up from anywhere in Mokkamaa when ordering. If the order is picked up by someone other than the subscriber, enter their name as the recipient of the order or in the comment field.

Pick-up packages are delivered for pick-up to a pick-up point selected by the customer. The delivery fee is from €5.99, and €0 for orders of €59 or more. We reserve the right to send the order by letter if this is possible considering the size and shelf life of the products and the weather situation. Another option is Posti's home delivery for €14.99, and €0 for orders of €149 or more.

Delivery methods Åland

We also deliver to the Åland Islands. The delivery method is a Matkahuolto and the price is €11.95, regardless of the size of the order. When delivering to Åland, you pay the VAT-free price in the online store, and the recipient pays the VAT in connection with the customs clearance. The VAT will be deducted automatically at checkout when you have selected Åland as the delivery country.

Note! Even if you place an order in Åland as a gift, the recipient usually still has to pay VAT.

Note! The country of delivery must be Åland, not Finland. If you choose Finland as the delivery country and an address in Åland, the shipment will find its destination, but the VAT portion will also have to be paid in the online store, in which case the total amount of taxes will be doubled. Taxes paid in excess in this way cannot be reclaimed retrospectively.

Delivery methods EU

We deliver orders throughout the EU. In the Baltic countries (Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania) as well as Sweden and Denmark, delivery can be ordered via Posti to a pick-up point or as home delivery by UPS. The pick-up point package costs €7.99 and home delivery €13. In the rest of the EU, the delivery method is home delivery. In northern Central Europe (Poland, Germany, the Netherlands, Luxembourg and Belgium), the options are Posti (€11.95) and UPS (€13), and in the rest of the EU, UPS (€16.99). Orders of at least 100€ are delivered free of charge throughout the EU.

We reserve the right to cancel an order if, for example, the shipping costs on an remote island are considerably large considering the size of the order. In such a case, the full order amount will be automatically refunded to the same payment method used by the subscriber and we will notify you of the cancellation by email.

Returns and refunds:

In webshops in Finland, consumer customers have the right to cancel the transaction in whole or in part and return the products within 14 days of receiving the goods. You do not need a specific reason for cancellation, but of course giving one will help us to improve our service. The product must be unopened and unused in its original packaging. Whenever possible, refunds will be paid to the same payment method/card used for the original purchase. Cancellations should be notified by e-mail to mokkamaa@mokkamaa.fi. The customer is responsible for the postage costs of the return, unless it is an obvious error on the part of the seller, such as the wrong product.

The seller is responsible for the costs of returning a product broken or otherwise damaged during transport only if the customer has chosen a carefully handled transport service subject to an additional fee at the time of ordering.

If an uncollected shipment is returned to us, we will not contact the customer separately, but will wait for the customer to contact us before taking any action. If such a shipment is reposted, the customer will have to pay the actual cost of posting, which is higher than the postage fees we charge in the online store. If the customer wants to cancel the order, only the price of the products will be refunded, not the postage already paid.

If you order chocolate in hot weather, we recommend that you inform us directly when ordering that it is ok for us to wait until the weather is more suitable for delivering chocolate. If you want your order to be shipped within normal delivery times in hot weather, we will not be responsible if the chocolate has been damaged due to temperature. Within normal delivery times, we try to take weather forecasts into account in any case. If you order chocolate in hot weather and cooler weather is promised in a couple of days, we will wait for the weather to cool down.

Always remember to check your order and products within two weeks of receiving your order!

Products on sale:

In the promotional products section, we sell products at a reduced price. We may lower prices for a variety of reasons: whether it's purely for the pleasure of pleasing you, to encourage you to buy more products at once, or to encourage you to buy certain products more quickly, for example if a best-before date is approaching.

Regularly, this stand has so-called package offers, e.g. the Tasty Coffee range, etc., which are always as fresh as the products sold at the normal price. Small discounts (less than 20%) usually mean that we have a lot of product in stock, but the best-before date is still at least a few weeks away. Discounts of around 20-50% or more usually mean that the best-before date is approaching. We only take products off sale on the best-before date. So if you choose to have your order shipped, it's possible that the best before date for such a discounted product will have passed by the time you collect your parcel. However, we will monitor the properties of products that are close to the date, and very likely they will still be fit for consumption when the parcel arrives.

All our products are dated "best before", and even our chocolates are dated from about four months to more than a year after manufacture, and they don't really go bad, but the flavour dilutes and the finer nuances fade over time. So all products are about as good a week before and a week after the best-before date.

Privacy:

All customer order and contact information remains with us and we do not use it for any purpose other than to process the order in question. We do not disclose them to third parties. The customer has the right at any time to request the deletion of his/her personal data and order history from our system.

About payment

We use Paytrail Plc's wide range of payment options to accept payments. You can also place an order for payment by invoice (prepayment). Please let us know by e-mail if you want to place an order on an invoice in the online store, and we will activate the payment method. In this case, after receiving your order, we will first issue an invoice, and process the order once we have received payment. For established customers and corporate/commercial customers, orders will be invoiced only upon delivery, with a payment term of 14 days or as agreed. For orders under 100€ we add a small invoice surcharge of 4,90€.

"Paytrail is a secure payment method for you. We have a payment institution licence issued by the Financial Supervisory Authority. The service is operated by Paytrail Oyj (business ID 2122839-7) and is part of the Nets family.

The Paytrail payment service forwards your payment to the merchant. If your bank statement or credit card bill shows Paytrail Plc, we have forwarded your payment.

The online store acts as a marketer of products and services and as a supplier of products to the customer. The online shop will take care of the legal obligations related to the transaction and other obligations that it determines itself. If you want to make a complaint or return a product, you should contact the online shop directly from which you ordered the product.

When an online shop uses Paytrail's payment service, you can find a description of the service on their website, for example the terms of delivery.

Payment service provider

The payment service is provided by Paytrail Oyj (2122839-7) in cooperation with Finnish banks and credit institutions. Paytrail Oyj appears as the recipient of the payment on the statement or card invoice and forwards the payment to the merchant. Paytrail Plc holds a payment institution licence. In the event of a complaint, please contact the supplier of the product in the first instance."
