Description
The Suke Quto coffee farm is located in the Guji coffee-growing region of Ethiopia in the village of Kumure. Coffees in the Guji region offer a complex yet balanced flavor profile that differs significantly from the coffees of neighboring Yirgacheffe and Sidamo. Guji was originally part of Sidamo, but because the coffees in the area are completely unique, it has been separated into its own coffee region.
The space is run by local influencer and tribal leader Tesfaye Bekele. Responsibility and Tesfaye’s own values play an important role in the operation of the coffee farm; The farm is organic and Rainforest Alliance certified, and safe working conditions have been provided for female workers. Tesfaye has also started a school project in the village.
