Description
Dark green, fine and rare organic tea from the east coast of Kyūshū, Japan’s southernmost island, Miyazaki Prefecture. Tamaryokucha is produced annually in Japan only in relatively small quantities. Its name comes from the words tama=jewel, ryoku=green and tee=cha.
Tea is rolled-leafed, and in addition to traditional steaming, it is lightly roasted, which is atypical for Japanese tea. The treatment removes the tartness commonly characteristic of Japanese tea and makes the taste fuller and sweeter. So, if you are more of a fan of mainland Asian tea or are unfamiliar with the typical “marine” of Japanese teas, Tamaryokucha is worth a try!
